Question by O’Really: Will Cap & Trade make “Green Energy” attractive to consumers ?
Since they’ll be the “traders” in this case prices might even go down.
EDIT…can anyone tell me about Green Mountain Energy ?
ozman641…South Texas from Corpus Christi to the border will get most of it’s power from wind in the next year or two.
Answer by C.S. Can’t tell you aboutgreen mountain…
But empirical examples from Europe and prior U.S. cap’n’trade operations (including SO2 in the 1990s) show that it will make pollution a choice in consuming and production and increase ‘greener’ choices by both consumers and producers in order to lower costs.
Question by yoshi_gurl08: Green Mountain Energy is it a legit safe/scam free company?
I’m considering working there and I encountered a sour ad and actually went to the interview
for “Just Energy” I got home googled it (because they didnt put the name of the company) and saw so many bad complaints from eployees and customers. Is this commissioned based or what.
IS THIS DOOR TO DOOR?
Answer by Bob Simple rule. Anything with “green” in the name is probably a scam.
Question by MaryCheneysAccessory: What are the pros and cons of wind energy?
There are alot of wind farms going up in my area. The biggest con that I see from these generators is that they pollute the beauty of our mountain ridges here in Western Pennsylvania. Sure, I am all for energy independence, but I think we rush to solutions in this country. What are your thoughts?
Answer by Scorpius59 We have those in Texas. I guess it depends on how close you live to them. At least they’re quiet ! We need to use solar energy too. Probably a lot less land needed to “capture” it. There are some windmills out around Galveston. They are actually pretty out there on the beach !
Question by Spikey lover: Is Nevada still the leading state in green energy? Does the state us nuclear power at all?
I can’t seem to find any websites that refer to Nevada’s main power source. I’m pretty sure that Nevada doesn’t use nuclear power at all. I need the websites you get your info off of because I’m doing this for my final English essay of the semester.
Answer by Gourdman Nevada’s main power source is probably hydroelectricity from Hoover Dam.
I don’t know if the state has nuclear power plants, but it does host the biggest nuclear waste dump in the country at Yucca Mountain. Not too green, in my opinion.
Question by cassie: How to dispute Stream Energy charges in Tx?
I have a 1700sq ft house a/c set on 77 all the time and continue getting 450.00 energy bills. My neighbors are all running around 170.00 a month. Am I paying for the streetlights? How do I get my meter tested independently and dispute this?
Answer by JW.C Sounds like you’re paying for yourself and another persons house.
Question by : Has anyone used Stream Energy in Texas?
I am currently using Green Mountain Energy Company, but their customer service is crap and they have lied to me about several different things. So, I am searching for a new company and a couple of people I know use Stream Energy and like it, but I’d like to know if any of you have used it aswell and what you think of the company. Thanks!
Answer by Nata T why would you even consider such things?? Your power company owns the lines to your home, anyone else you buy from still has to pay your local power company to get power to you. So both companies get a profit from delivering power to you.
