What is the best electric company for the Dallas/Ft Worth TX metro area?

Question by Gabrielle: What is the best electric company for the Dallas/Ft Worth TX metro area?
I’m from out-of-state and need help choosing an electric company in the Dallas/Ft Worth metro area. I’m currently looking at Gexa Energy and TXU Energy. Please give advice or any other helpful suggestions based on personal experience or word-of-mouth.

Thanks in advance!

Get you a cooperative Electric company. The cheapest. I am with Tri-County Electric Cooperative. Nobody beats their rates. Have a good one.

Are there rebates/incentives for solar/wind power in the Dallas/Fort Worth area?

Question by dr_usual: Are there rebates/incentives for solar/wind power in the Dallas/Fort Worth area?
I’ve found information on federal tax incentives, but I’m particularly interested in rebates for equipment purchase and installation. The city of Austin offers this, and in other areas rebates are offered by the power companies themselves. I can’t find info particular to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, or energy providers in DFW.

Try contacting the Fort Worth / Dallas power companies and maybe even call the local government, like Dept of Power and energy conservation. Even the public library may be able to give you some info. Good luck.
